Mizzou’s College of Engineering has attracted faculty and staff at all levels within each department who are nationally and internationally recognized, have achieved teaching excellence awards from the University, contribute to state and nationally-funded research, and are involved in student programs year-round. Despite budget challenges, retention at the COE remains high due to their commitment to the excellent programs, challenging research projects and caliber of students. The Foundation and its friends can support these faculty and staff members by the following.
- Providing endowments or selected chairs and professorships
- Donating towards faculty/staff recognition awards such as Dean’s Excellence in Research awards
- Enabling professional development via faculty attendance at normally unfunded symposiums, training and conferences
- Supporting their research projects, e.g. corporate funding options
